@MrBRiNGS hi, dont suppose you could tell me what the score is with pre amps, when is it neccesary to actually use them? Iv been chatting to a few soundboys and consulting them on all the bits of kit i have bought so far but they havnt mentioned the pre amps.

at least you are using REAL amplifiers.. not the switched mode amplifiers new lightweight amplifiers that sound DRY. :)

those EV Q series amps are great workhorses!!!
kool, which pre-amp you get? JTS, mostec or links?
as for power-amps my favs are: Crown MA5000VZ, Crest CA18, JTS UA6, JTS Annihilator, EV P series, especially EV P3000.
btw the new out JTS Annihilator pre-amp looks bloody wicked!!!!!!!!
