Why on earth would this poem make one feel "uncomfortable", one wonders.

I remember hearing my English teacher reading this to our English Literatute class maybe 45 years ago. I loved it then and poetry has been meaningful for me ever since. Thank you Mr. Betjeman and thank you Miss Williams.
