Be kind, this is my first screencast and I'm getting used to the software... All you need for this tutorial is NI Massive. I'll show you how I go about automating my basslines with LFO inputs instead of midi controller knobs or drawing in automation. If you like this, let me know and I'll be sure to whip up some more on a regular basis.

  • which soundwave should i use for fidget?

  • @syydeboy Sorry, it's hard to answer this question... For one, I don't listen to fidget. I also firmly believe that as a producer it's your responsibility to develop your own style and sound. If you're absolutely desperate to have a standardized "fidget" sound my best advice would be to study that genre of music A LOT. Then get to know your equipment/software well enough that you can easily make the sound yourself.

  • @AnodyneIndustries well fidget is dubsteps cousin so how you dont know?

  • @syydeboy I'm not really sure where you're drawing that conclusion from. Fidget spawned electro-house. It has roots in the Garage house which is probably why you're making the assumption that it has anything to do with dubstep. Look, electronic music is a giant inbred family of music. Saying that dubstep and fidget come from the same origins is a shaky foundation to base your claim that because I know anything about dubstep I should know about fidget too.

  • I am very new to producing so I have a quick question. Massive lets you create sounds but not put them together and actually made a song right?

  • @SpaSpaSpaz That's right. Massive is just a synthesizer. When you run it in "stand-alone" mode without any sequencing software like Ableton Live, Cubase, Logic, etc. you can't record a song with it. But, if you load it as an instrument in any of those programs, the sequencing software will let you record the music you play with the synth. If you have any other questions head over to my website: anodyneindustries(dot)net and send me an email

  • @syydeboy GAH, stop talking shit! This guy knows his stuff, I'm sure anyone that listens to his music knows he knows his stuff, and I, for one, know my stuff - fidget is MUCH more closely related to House - I mean, come on, it's called Fidget House, more formally. Dubstep has much less to do with fidget than House does, and if we're going on tradition, Dubstep has very little to do with most anything we've mentioned.

  • This is great thanks a lot. Just wondering how you know when you're time time with all your LFOs? Should all them be divisible by 2 or something?

  • I like it a lot! I'm pretty new to making electronic music and am only semi-familiar with massive. Learned a lot from this :)

  • @AnodyneIndustries assumptions?... >.< dude maybe you should listen to fidget before you say "fidget spawned from electro house"

fidget always had wobbly basslines..i know u looked at wikipedia for this info.. :/

  • hi there anodyneindustries...i sent you an email with some questions i have about this software. subject is MASSIVE questions.

  • @AnodyneIndustries thank you alot! you just saved me alot of time looking for those programs to record! :D
