  • @alexairlie But, this is THE version. It's not "nice", it's breathtaking. And it's his.

  • Is there any chance you'll be putting up Harris and the Mare?

It's my favorite Stan Rogers song, and I'm shocked that it's nowhere to be found on Youtube.

  • @fps44 "...Stan....(brought) understanding of life." Beautiful analysis. Just beautiful.

  • @DEProf06 Sorry, Gorka doesn't hold a candle.

  • " but that anchor chain's a fetter"......pure poetry!!

  • IMHO one of Stan's finest work...gives me chills!

  • my dad shared stans music with me when I was little and now I can show my boys what good music is....... brings happy tears to my eys

  • This is my daughters favorite song. She now has a son. It's my favorite too. It gives old married men a nice warm feeling having been old fashioned enough to appreciate a good woman and our children. This is a perspective I'm sure Stan was imparting with this song. There is no more to be said and no better way to say it. Thank God Stan Rogers spent time on earth to bring so much joy and understanding of life. Check House of Orange for a real statement of what people feel but don't say

  • This song takes my breath away each time I hear it , it's probably Stan's most beautiful song and his most melodic piece of music . The sound of Garnet's various guitars and the 12 string guitar in the background is simply beautiful .

  • Stan's wife said , this song explains the dichotomy of Stan's life --He loved being on the road but , he also loved being at home with his wife & son . We , all , have suffered a huge loss in our collective lives with Stan being with the angels now . Rest in Peace Stan

  • Thank God for U Tube , youve given me so much pleasure in bringing the most wonderful Stan Rogers music into my life. I will be eternally grateful. Graham from the Isle of Man

  • @brantfordbelle You should go! I went to Newfoundland for a week, and it convinced me that I want to live on the East coast for the rest of my life, if I am so fortunate.
