  • there is no need to review this film it is the most horryifying film of all time, you are a nigger for actually thinking that your opinion holds water against one of the greatest films of all time directed by one of the greatest film directors of all time

david lynch owes his life to Dario and so should you

go die you napoleon dynamyte wannabe

  • cool, racist.

  • @durden85 how am i a racist for calling you a dumbass?

  • "you are a nigger for actually thinking that your opinion holds water"

you sound like a delightful human being.

  • @durden85 niggers come in all colors because nigger means dumbass (hint check chris rock. i love black people but i hate niggers)

again answer me you napoleon dynamyite wannabe who has NO idea of what is a good horror film or bad especially when you insulted one of the GREATEST horror classics EVER and proably think that scary movie two is better than this. how am i racist for calling you a dumbass?

  • I don't know why I'm responding to you. I think you're ignorant for using the "n" word so freely, for calling me a "napolean dynamite wannabe", and for thinking that I'm jumping at the opportunity to defend myself and my opinion to someone who insults me with nothing pleasant or valid to say. I don't have to defend my opinion to you. It's a film that I didn't personally enjoy as much as I had hoped. That's great that you absolutely love it. I didn't. It's just a difference of opinion.

  • The problem with the dialog is that the movie was originally written with elementary school aged kids in mind. But Dario then changed his mind saying that having little kids in that situation would be too much. He decided to cast twentysomethings in their place...........but much of the original dialog was kept! The best example was the scene where Olga was making fun of Suzy and Sara's names which resulted in Sara sticking her tongue at Olga like a little child while Olga hissed at her.

  • I completely agree with you. This movie sucks.

  • Suspiria isn't the most intellectual film ever and while it is one of my favourite films of all time, I do think it's a tad overrated as the "scariest horror movie ever". Nonetheless, it is a technological marvel and one of the most unique horror films out there which is why people consider it a classic. I also think Jessica Harper was really good in this!

  • I think it also adds to the surreal atmosphere. You just feel that things are a bit off, and whacky.

Personally, to me it's irritating watching the films of today feel there's a need for perpetual witty dialog. In both movies and sit-coms. I'd rather listen to a bunch of elementary school kids sometimes.

  • Love your reviews man, and I can see why one might not "get" Suspiria or many of Argento's films for that matter, and to each their own. Argento's work is more focused on atmosphere (you noted the color palates, and the camera work.) much of his work is very surreal and doesn't really stick to any sort of linear story line. it doesn't click for some people. I love it though, and this movie still scares the crap out of me! :-D Maybe check out Deep Red, or Opera. Might like those better.

  • I think it's great that someone young like yourself is curious about the old movies. I am 39 and never heard of Argento or Suspiria till a few days ago. Funny thing is I saw the trailer with the skull-face woman putting the flower in her hair and I remember the commercial freaked me out as a kid. I saw David Lynch's "Eraserhead" a few years ago and I see your point about these movies, but they were intended for an off-beat audience that was not as over-saturated with imagery as we are today.

  • You refer to "The Exorcist & "Psycho" as movies you get but don't get "Suspiria" might have something to do w/ "Suspiria" is done by a Italian director not from a Hollywood main stream perspective.

Argento has a art film take on his movies over all.

  • @Panditha666 You certainly sound enlightened on the wide world of the English language. You would have to be a true dumbass to not know someone is going to assume you are racist when using the word "nigger". You sound like a fucking child. Whether or not the film was any good you need to stop riding Argento's dick so hard.

  • The fact that Suspiria is a classic, i think, it's because of the beauty of the film. More than a good movie , it's visually stunning.
