Dubspot Instructor and Mixing & Mastering engineer Daniel Wyatt is back with more invaluable techniques, tips and tricks using iZotope's versatile mastering plug-in Ozone 4. In this new tutorial video, Wyatt shares an amazing technique using Ozone's Multiband Compressor to gather up all the low end frequencies (foundational elements such as kick and bass) of your track and boosting them up and giving them compression pressure, while maintaining a dynamic of sounds. Daniel Wyatt starts by explaining the essential settings and parameters of the multiband dynamics section, and further shows you how to utilize some of the incredible features such as the real-time visualization dynamics and solo-ing of each band of the four bands, so you can compress, fine-tuned, and boost specific frequency range. Once again, Wyatt is using Ozone 4 mastering plug-in, but dynamic range compression is a universal mastering technique you can apply using any host application.

  • What does acoustic power mean?

  • how much are the mastering classes??? do you guys have online mixing classes?? please let me know!

  • verrryy cool and helpful tut!

  • @buukkoo Experiment, compress the highs/mids as well as the lows, I apologise if I'm not that helpful, but Mastering is whatever sounds good. However, for it too sound good it has to obviously work, and for it too work you have had to have experimented to achieve the correct formula (compression of highs/mids/lows, EQ etc.). So basically Im telling you to try everything! or that mastering is just like Mathematics being recycled by a constant boring formula... you pick

  • Fantastic video man, really helpful... just wanted to ask, should i use the same attack and release settings for each band on the compressor?

  • @buukkoo I was wondering the same thing?

  • @DJDeemoney One instance on the Master Channel.

  • Thank you very much for the great tutorials really!
