@md46usa All countries, may they be Communist, Socialist, Anarchist, or Capitalist... need outside connections such as trade to ensure its survival. The Western allies, and other Capitalist nations cut off all trade to the USSR. As in an "economic quarantine." Because whoever won the Cold War would ultimately control the course of humanity. Thus no trade, equals, no survival. Thus the USSR collapsed... but not on itself, but from outside sources.

@VietnamNOW I know that comment was two years ago, but anyways... Communism being a system to sacrifice for a collective and to work for the good of the rest over yourself. And Capitalism being a system to work for your own gain, and is actually defined as a system built on greed. Also, by you saying, "Communists are pigs." I would assume that you live in a Capitalistic society... And therefore you only contradict yourself. Why objectify millions over a political affiliation, like you just had?

Communism originally attracted milions of people thanks to its theory that promised to create the heaven on earth. But between words and deeds, there is paradox that proved Communism is only a night mare of humandkind.
That's why after 70 years, the soviet union and many other communist states collapsed
