  • Outstanding! Can we have some more info on the Widgeon? What engines, avionics, etc. History of this 1944 aircraft? Will it be flown off water in the near future?

  • It has Continental IO-520-E engines, 285 hp each. Was converted from Navy to civilian aircraft in 1946. Avionics include Garmin GMX200 MFD, GMA340 audio panel, 2 - GNS 430 GPS/Nav/com, GTX330 transponder, Century III autopilot,Sandel SN3500 HSI,L3 Stormscope, GDL69A XM audio/weather, Shadin fuel/air data computer. Water operations are in the plane's future, not sure how soon, as all our water is frozen now. Aircraft will be based in OH.

  • Love these things! I just put a guys Ranger powered model back in the air on Friday.

  • DEfinately the widgeon, as well as teh goose are on my very short list

  • nice....

  • This is my new favorite video!!! I hope some day that I can fly a Widgeon.

  • Super clean video! This Widgeon sounds like a flat nacelled Commander on steroids. Plenty of power.

  • Nicely done video.

Anyone viewing, be sure to "watch in high quality".

    Beautiful panel.

Just like being there. I liked the sound of the engines getting slightly out of sync as you pull the props back from take-off to climb power. Then again, on short final, you get that slight bit of that out of sync drone. Delightful!

The Widgeon is surely on every pilots short list of planes they'd like to own.
