Today Tuesday January 20 2009 is inauguration day for President Barack Obama, but it is also the occasion of a rare snow day in North Carolina as well. My cat Starbuck has never seen snow before and spent the morning curiously looking out all the windows of the house at the white fluff coming down. By 9:30AM EST I decided to give her a chance to experience snow first-hand, and it was an adventure for both of us...

  • wouldn't cats get cold paws from walking in the snow

  • @lbIeesel I imagine so!

  • lol cats that are kept on leashes try to run away :) should keep them as outdoor cats.

  • @wcw I live in an cul-de-sac with moderate auto traffic and I'm always wary of dogs chasing the cat around, so I figure they have a more comfortable life indoors. She actually managed to get out once and was away for about 10 days before I found her and brought her back home. Apparently life on the outside wasn't very easy or enjoyable, because she was sure happy to see me, and she's never tried to go outside again since.

  • u sound like a cool dude nice vid

  • @Js0NiCe333 Thanks ;). Some others think I abuse the poor cat and give the cat kudos for tolerating the things I do to her, like periodically bathing her when she's been outside and I want to clean her of any possible fleas and ticks.

  • ur kitten looks like my kitten when she was small :)

  • @Ir0nG14nt she never learned to be outside. Thats your fault..

  • beautiful house bro. cute cat

  • your a nice cat owner

  • cats can't stand leashes, they need harnesses, cats will literally strangle/hang themselves on leashes

  • while you may think its not cruel, there special cat leashes you should buy for cats that only stay inside.

As I take your cat stays inside mainly.

We had a special cat leash that wasnt like yours, which was actualyl like a little dog collar, animal friendly.

  • @Daphoid YES it is cruel, look at the bigger picture, there is a cable tied around its neck. Just because the knot wont move, doesnt mean strangulation cannot occur. It would of looked so much better to have it around the chest and over the shoulders as a harness, not round the cats neck.

What if it got spooked and jumped off the steps or over the railing?

Rough fabric? Well I guess the majority of leash makers have made a pretty big balls up.

  • @mitsucanter247365 Oh yes, because RJ11 cable is "Cruel" because it's lined with plastic versus a leash that's lined with rough fabric. If you tie the knot properly it won't slip either, so it's not choking the cat, news flash some people can do more then tie their shoes when it comes to lengths of rope.

And would it shock you to know that in some cities cats MUST be on leashes at all times when they're outside?

The cat clearly looks just fine exploring the snow in a happy environment, sheesh.

  • Why didnt you just string your cat up with that cable. Jesus, if your going to "experiment" get the correct equipment first and not mock up some cruel make shift.
