'Dixie's Land'-A live performance by the incomparable 2nd South Carolina String Band @ The 145 Anniversary of The Battle of Gettysburg Reenactment...PLEASE NOTE: This video is posted for the purpose of enjoying the history of the Civil War, and not because I personally support the confederacy, etc.. My Great, great Grandfather was a Union soldier who fought to preserve the Union and to emancipate the slaves, a fact of which I am very proud. (Racist comments will be removed)

Speaking as a musician and re-enactor, 19th centruy folk doesn't get any better then this. I have seen these guys many times. They always present a great show. They are musical historians as well. Much of their music is performed form the original scores, such is the case with DIxie! They are all first rate musicians. Buy their cd's on Amazon, I'm sure they would appreciate it. You will also get an education in 19 centruy culture, both north and south! Long live Jeff Davis !
