Tubby was a nice guy, but he didn't like change. UK offered him a chance to get new coaching staff, and he refused. Had he made the change, he may have stayed on a little longer. Tubby didn't help in-state recruiting at all, and even though he went to the NCAA every year, he won the 1998 champs with Pitino's recruits. Calipari is twice the coach Tubby is, and Pitino's not the same since he left UK.

just keep telling yourself that! tubby wasnt a bad coach, and anyone who says so is full of shit.. but lets not kid ourselves here.. the guy had loaded teams while he was there and didnt capitalise on them... there should have been another title in 2003 if you go by talent and the way the team was playing. the failures during time at UK (and thats not many) were definitely caused by him.. not the team itself.

IIRC Uk didnt want orlando and he didn't want to be there Minn got a great coach, they will be top 25 every year and challenging for sweet 16's. And maybe a Nat'l title.
UK is Kentucky and we are who we think we are.
