In my own experience, I encountered a number of women in the military who were suffering some sort of mental distress. I feel this was due to the stressful environment, and the change in lifestyle women experience when they are no longer treated as weak women, but as "tough" service members.

  • Why the hell are you listening to NPR for? You need to find a news station worth listening to that is worth their salt. Besides an Air Force Captin? Give me a fucking break.

  • I dont care if your a woman, i dont care if your a wimpy man, i dont care if your nervous, when it comes to the time of stomping your enemy and taking charge, team work, strategy, and human abilities are all that matter men and woman are both humans we both have are differences but who cares we both share the same world so deal with it.

  • Funny you telling me not to pretend to know someone. You've commented like you know everything about me from the start.

  • I am not playing both sides. I do not want to be treated or perceived differently due to my gender. My grandfather did it and so did my father for a time. He finally snapped out of it. And before you decided to judge my fathers actions don't presume to know him better than I because you share a common body part. If he can change so can all. And even he will tell you he is a better man for it. Nature or nurture doesn't matter. Doing the right thing does.

  • The laws may change one day but the mentality won't because it's nature. As much as people like you don't want to believe it men and women are not the same and no amount of girl power propaganda will change that. It's not nurture it's nature.

  • And you demonstrate how women play both sides of the fence when it comes to being equal. You start off saying you never received nor want special treatment and call me an ass then when I insult you you take offense and say I have issues with women. It's ok for you to insult me but not me insult you because you're a woman. Sounds like you want special treatment.

  • With every comment you demonstrate your chauvinistic mentality. I feel sorry for any man or woman who tries to care about you. I am speaking from experience that thankfully your point of view is dying.

  • A real woman would realize that men and women are biologically different and there are some things that men are better at because of it. It is not just nutrure but nature.

  • You make my point for me cunt. You receive special treatment your whole life. Like most women you don't even realize when men are doing it. Not all of them find it when they join either. If anything they get worse and want to get out so they can get back to the status quo. Like I said the few that do measure up are not the norm and an entire unit should not have to adapt to one person.

  • Most women don't because they are coddled all their life for being a girl. They aren't given the chance to toughen up. But they find it once they join. I didn't receive special treatment and the 2 blown knees and nearly destroyed spine that I have from serving my country (got blown up twice while tending to fellow soldiers, you ass) are a testament to the equal treatment I received. Go shove your inferiority complex up your ass!
