Non-verbal Communication-Invisible String Experiment

My partner and I pretend that we're pulling a string between us. We chose to conduct the experiment in the vicinity of Union Square, but away from heavy traffic areas. The camera was not hidden per se, but placed in an inconspicuous location.

We are testing to see if people will rely more on what they perceive (they don't see the string) or what we communicate through our body language (the string is there, it's invisible, you should avoid it). Let's see how people react.
Results:

43 people decided to trust what they see and just walked through

5 people walked over the string

8 people walked around us.

6 people hesitated before walking through the string or going around us

dogs just walked through.

People were more likely to just walk through the "string" when there were more people around.

The song is from Evangelion, it's called "A Moment When Tension Breaks"
