Responding to charges from Senator Norm Coleman in new TV ad, Al Franken says Coleman looked Minnesota in the eye and lied to them. Franken says he had no prior knowledge or involvement in bringing the suit that alleges money was funneled to Coleman by one of his wealthy supporters.

"Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them" was published in 2003. Considering the research that went into that book and how many human hours it took to acquire it, by the time Mr. Franken wrote "Lies", yes, that specific fact may have been obsolete. Or, it could have been the time it took to publish that made it so.

Be smart, use your head. "Now", in the context written, didn't mean "today".

WRONG! Franken cited a L.A Times article on a CDF report.

If Franken would have actually read the CDF report, he would have read " the annual black child poverty rate was at its lowest point on record in 2001."
