  • @srekauq-We need to move on from Flags, patriotism, religion, we are killing the planet. No one is religious, but we are conditioned into thinking so. Music is music, the result of pre-frontal lobes. If conciousness is ever to be raised into the new paradigm, then religion and the God delusion should be confined to the dustbin of history. Only then can man free the mind and reach his/her true potential. I can find silence anywhere/anytime, I do not have to sit with deluded people.

  • @24414330 I agree we need to move away from too closely identifying with any group as we then tend to demonise other groups that are not like us - and this can certainly included religions. But because some people think differently from the way you think does not make them deluded. I find sitting in silence with others, many of who not not share my ideas, gives me a sense of connectedness with them. Does that make me deluded?

  • @srekauq- Ten years ago 3000 dead WTC, last week nine suicide bombs, Christian America preparing minds for bombing Iraq, Wasi goes to the Vatican to discuss how to bring the God delusion back into British life, Syria locked in a Muslim civil war, USA end-timers back in the White House. Quakers sit once a week and God flies in through the window and talks to them. Quakers play their part in keeping the lie going, all in the name of the God delusion. Some of us care about peace and truth

  • @24414330 Since the beginning of human history people have united behind a country, a flag, a tribe, a clan, a family, a religion and then acted in the name of that unifying body. Sometimes their actions have been worthy - more often they have been destructive. The error has been human not the error of the "cause" with which they identify. (Continued)

  • @24414330 Part 2. My observation is that everyone is "religious" to some degree, even those who reject the language and dogma of traditional religion. Anyone who has been moved by music, the majesty of nature, the 'spirit" of team sports, the deep sharing of mutually satisfying sex (to name just a few) has had a "religious" experience.

As someone who has experienced Quaker worship, you will know that every person present finds in the silence their own meaning. (continued)

  • @24414330 (part 3) Some will use the traditional language of "waiting on God" - others, like you, are non-theists but they still find deep meaning in the shared silence out of which often comes words to comfort and challenge.

  • A Quaker with a statue of Buddha behind him? lol

  • A few years ago I randomly got myself into a Quaker meeting in England when I was there on my holiday. They are an amazing bunch of people. I saw them having a smart attitude towards life in general, and an extremely peaceful and kind attitude towards other people. When I got home I did some research and found a lot of amazing achievements through history by Quaker people, inspired by their desire to help the needy. Keep up the good work, you people! I love you all!

  • @Srekauq- Nothing wrong with sitting quietly, If you want a comfortable delusion thats your prerogative. Some of us are looking for a higher truth. If the delusion was benign and harmless, I say no probs. But some of us are sick and tired of all this religious violence and seperation, some religious nutter will no doubt carry out yet another outrageous atrocity. Quakers play their part in stoking the fire. However, on the positive side, the Whale species is slowly recovering

  • @24414330 "Still waiting for you to come up with this one good act that only a believer could do." Why would I want to do that?

Hopefully we are able to grow and move on all the time. What is it your children are afraid of?

Interested that they keep blocking your 24414330 comments. What on earth have you been saying?

  • @FredrickDeSherlock -Still waiting for you to come up with this one good act that only a believer could do. But like i said there are thousands of wicked acts that only a believer would undertake. Time we all grew up, time we moved on from this mass delusion and time to give the proceeds back, to help our children come out of this fear.
