@hawaii8087 That's the reason people must avoid going to college in debt, i guess is "ok" if you have savings and / or external people supporting you..
Instead you could learn by yourself there's a lot of resources this day to do so, you can buy almost any book online, and just the internet is full of resources even tho a great book will always be he best option; Study, research, develop, get experience and be modest (yes working for free, my first job was $50/week now Im CEO)

Internship - why pay an idiot if he works for free.

@DarrelfromZeeland Yea, but the thing is that not all of us are willing to be paid to kill people, become disfigured, blind, or handicapped, and be forgotten by the nation we defended. And yea, there's preference for veterans. But a lot of them come out hardened and thinking that they had it harder than anyone and that they can push management out. Not so. The truth is that college is not the end all, but the first step in a lifelong journey. It might be different down there though.

@redoctober90 You should've thought about that before you went to college. You would've gotten a better education from the military. Paid on the job training and you can usually get hired at a civilian job right away when you get out. College is just a Bernie Madoff Ponzi scheme.

Come on man, you're seriously wasting your time. Even though you may be able to market yourself and build networks with professionals it's still a 50-50 chance that you may or may not get a paying job. This is a down economy and employers in these companies are trying to do everything they can to save money and still make money even if it means using an intern they have no intentions on hiring for little to no pay. You really need to wake up. That's how companies work.

Forget that! Working for FREE is the best option for individuals such as myself. Although Im not getting money, I am most certainly able to market myself AND build networks with professionals in the field. Its better than sitting at home and playing the Wii.

@LifeLibertyLove I seriously agree with you on that note. No way would i be working as a an unpaid intern. That guy's basically working as a slave in a sweatshop.
-
@slbiggs36 I couldn't have said it better. First they tell us they'll pay us and then they stop paying us at all. Basically an unpaid intern is a fancy way of saying you're going to work in a sweat shop. This guy's basically wasting his time. No way would I be working for money.

American people need to wake up, your telling me hundreds of thousands of people will do millions of dollars worth of damage for a single man named Rodney King but Americans can not even wake up and protest this nonsense.

Yea, it's a good idea to at least get some experience. I've heard of stories where hiring managers will not even consider anyone who hasn't worked in some means in 6 months. The thing is when you decide to go to college, you implicitly take up any costs to get that degree, which may mean you have to go and pay to get an internship or volunteer, but it's worth it. I just graduated from college in December with three degrees in a science background, and I work for minimum wage at Sears.
This is what the corporations have wanted all along. They're finally turning us all into slaves.

TRue, not every grad can afford it. Many of us don't have support and will be recieving bills for student loans in 6 months time.
Peace corps anyone? :)
