a touch and go high box squat....not putting you down, but that kind of defeats the purpose... An appropriate box squat is controlled down to the box, pause on the box, and then explode up to finish the rep.
You are right. Im wrong on that last post. But, box squates are used to engage the hamstrings by sitting back. Exstending your knee joint out past a 90 degree angle so that the hamstring is forced to pull you forward and up off the box. They over emphasize the role of the hamstring in a normal squat to cure hamstring weekness. So they should be done with less weight then your regular squat so you can do them properly. You should be trying to sit on your nuts each rep. With a very wide stance.
@MrRhutchins excess protein will be turned to fat. If that wasn't the case the body could not break down muscle to glucose for energy if you were starving. Process like this excess protein-simple sugars-stored fat
Protien does not turn to fat. You realy should be educated on the topic before you make such a dumb statement. Protien is protien and can not be converted to anything ells. Fat can only be stored or converted to suger and suger can only be converted to fat. When you lift you burn primarily muscle glycogen (suger stored in the muscles). Un used protien simply gets flushed out of the digestive tract. Used protien is used for tissue repare and digestion. Plus this is a week box squat.
