Twilight Vision 07: World/Inferno Friendship Society
Host: Evan
Produced, Filmed & Edited by: Kevin Rankin
Add. Camera: Evan Kleinman, Jordana Lewinter
Add. Sound: Jim Norton

Producer's Notes:
When I was introduced to the World/Inferno some years back, much about them was shrouded in mystery. They were not a band, but a cult. Their shows were not shows, they were rituals. Their music was not typical of any genre, but the spirit of punk rock was apparent more than any other band I had ever seen before. Most everything about them us unpredictable and utterly unique and they quickly became on of my favorite bands. It was an honor to sit down with them for Twilight Vision and I think it's safe to say that this is so far, my favorite episode of the series thus far.

  • I opened for WIFS. I was honored. Jack came up to me and spent the entire second opening bands set talking to me and flattering me. He really talks that sly. HAHA. Great people

  • Who's stoked for hallowmas? I'M stoked for hallowmas.

  • @ladylazulo Yeah, too bad the Dresden Dolls never officially called it quits, announced a reunion tour a month prior to your comment, & has worked with many talented & successful musicians. Like Trent Reznor.

World Inferno is AWESOME! No one else has their sound, even though they try to mimic it.

    ...

Yes. They sound like every other Devotchkaneque band...

'cept they been around for 15 years, kid.

Dare I say, bands like that would not exist without them.

Regardless, when all these mainstream rip-off acts were still hooked on grunge, these folks in the W/I began to blaze a path of defiance and joy and style through this world...

littered with wine bottles, broken instruments, trashed venues, and unfettered romance. ^_^

  • WOW Brian... Talk about moving down in the world!!! You left something truly unique for something that sounds like every other rockabilly/devotchkaneque/new-agey band out there. Sorry folks, the description may sound interesting and new, the sound however is not. Poor, poor boy... What a fool!

  • Very cool video...The music rocks. And Brian!!!

  • Jack quoted Raybeez? I thought he really didn't like hardcore that much

  • Yes! I've been looking for a good shot of them tearing through the paper at the beginning of the show. Very good. And hearing Jack do Lorre is just a great way to send me off to class.

  • Ah, Thank you.
