I agree with Trex1268 you should try again with the skin facing up instead of it being face down on the table. It'd be easier for the blades to just snap through the skin that way instead, especially with the tomatoes.

@IdeonFukkatsu - Are you kidding me? Are you a chef for McDonald's? The top parts of green onions are used extensively in cooking around the world. They add wonderful flavor as well as color to dishes.

I'm a chef. You never ever use the fucking green end of the green onion in cooking.... EVER. You use the first 3-4 inches TOPS (white bulb part).
