When people see those beautiful Stars and Bars, they automatically think either Racist, KKK, or total ignorance. I know that the DAMN KKK uses my glorious flag for their God forsaken activities, but they used the US flag for 100 years before that. And when i go to places with my Confederate Battle Flag t-shirt, i'm tried of having to defend myself to no end. I've had my Flag defaced and stolen, i've been asked to leave places, and almost got kicked out of a class because of my heritage. (thank god i'm a decent debater). I'm so proud of my Southern heritage and i never give people any slack for appreciating theirs. People always say that the South is the most ignorant, hateful place in the US, then why is my love for the Southern Cross despised by so in other areas of the country? When are people going to realize that Confederate history is never going away, and people like me are never going to stop defending it? When are history text books going to stop spreading lies about the war to our kids and give them both sides of the conflict? I'm guessing it will when the Statists are finally stop once and for all and people care more about politics and history then they do about who the Bachelorette gave her final rose to. But that is how these liberals want this country to be, mindless drones who think the gov't can take care of all our problems so they can get back to voting for the next American Idol. I'm starting to get sick them and their ways. How bout you?

"Wow really? What was that about "hate not heritage." Got news for ya, read the damn lyrics." : The Confederate Battle Flag is about Southern heritage, not racial hate. That phrase has nothing to do with the song.

"OK...well this makes sense....so much for free speech on this site I see. Typical redneck, if they don't like what you say, they won't let you say it.": I do that because unfortunately there are lots of people that don't want an intelligent debate about the War For Southern Independence and just want to spew racial hate or post things that are either nonfactual or don't relate to the conversation.

"TREASON": The States' belong to the people, not the Federal Gov't. Treason is a defined crime in the Constitution, and the law of the land stopped the day the South seceded. Tenth Amendment allows secession, and the Union was wrong to not to recognize the sovereign nation of the CSA, and leave them the Hell alone

@jeracci I think it's because the beliefs in that document were being stomped all over by the Union, acting like it was a worthless piece of paper because the gov't wasn't following the Founding Principles of States' Rights. It's still a little confusing still to me.
