The avian(bird) flu...that one preceded the swine flu. There was a time in '06-'07 where all kinds of birds, even chickens, were too dangerous!!! *GASP*

@incedius420 I'm no expert, but common seasonal pollen allergies work in the same way as you describe the swine flu. They don't hurt your body directly; they just cause your body to over-react, fighting against the pollen unnecessarily, which creates the allergy symptoms.

What makes swine flu so fun is who it affects an what other flu is like It. The swine cause your body to overreact to its attack. Its not the flu hurting you its your body going overboard trying to kill it. So the people hurt worst by swine are 16-35 year olds with strong immune systems. While in other flu outbreaks its the young an old with weak immune systems. Only one other flu had this ability. The flu of 1911 that killed 50mill worldwide.

@longfootbuddy We have been protected against H1N1 including a baby, just hours before her birth, by vaccination of her mother. We stood in line with over 1400 others at Hickory Creek School, in Will County to make sure a beloved child would not suffer from H1N1. Vaccine was found in the next county for another dear child when Lake County ran out. People don't realize how dangerous H1N1 is. We are protected, but what about you?

It's too bad Ron Paul was shut out of his campaign for president. He was so dedicated to it that he had his own radio broadcasts and paid for his campaign out of his own pocket. But the powers that be refused to allow him in the debates. Next time Ron!
