I have podles version and she is always wonderful in a breeches role and i greatly enjoy her but she is very stereotypical as the villain. this one from jennifer lane is wonderful. far exceeds podles in style. a great refined villain. brava jennifer.

A remarkable performance! So perfect. I like the accurate rendition. No overly dramatic notes that end up out of tune, like KISS (stands for keep it simple, stupid), that's the best.
notice at 1:44 "E a voi sacrar vogl'io " a perfect example of how compsers borrowed from themselves. The tune is a direct copy of "e chi e mal far disposto" in "Va Tacito" (Giulio Cesare).
