    You're assuming that thought could be obeyed, which I believe is not possible. It does bring up the need for what in Artificial Intelligence is known as Intelligent Disobedience. I for one hope that will be introduced into this kind of technology.

    I agree that this does need to be used responsibly, but the same goes for many (if not all) other pieces of technology.

    Something like that can actually already be done. There is a drug called The Devil's Breath that is used in Brazil by criminals to control people to do illegal activities. The person affected by the drug will do anything asked of them for a period of time and not remember any of it afterwards. There are people who have woken up in their empty apartment after taking everything out and giving them to the criminals when under the "spell".
