Inspired to put up another video with the hope that Neil Braidwood will come good with the Freeze suporting Duran Duran tapes from the Odeon 1981.

Thanks for the pics Neil, look forward to hearing the tapes

Finally got my act together and found these pics I was banging on about, plus scanned them. They might be a bit dark, but there pretty cool. I saved them small for web, but I have them quite hi-res if you want better versions. There was one of you and me David, but I can't find them. Seems Gordon and Mike were more photogenic! One is obviously the Nite Club, but I can't remember where the other two were shot. The look on my face is priceless!

Photographer was a girl I knew called Collette, but can't remember her last name.

Found the cassettes too. Live at the Odeon and also live at Maestros (Glasgow), think I have some other ones too, but they might double up on what you have already.

About to embark on the digitisation of these cassettes -- and I'm a novice, here, but I'll manage. Watch this space!

Chat soon.

Neil

  • Its the band name

  • The Astoria, during the Edinburgh Festival 80/81. Hair standing up at the back of the neck the first time the audience sang along

    "heaven is getting stranger"

Hope your gig went well, My band is heading lining at the Barns Green Festival over the weekend to a crowd of about 3500 and it will be fun, but not on the same level as that moment at the astoria

  • Hah! Those were the exact words i sang last week during the Cindytalk gig.Of course the only person in the audience likely to know what i was singing would've been Andy. But then,it was for him ;-) The gig went brilliantly. All new material,we played two sets in one - a laptop set of abstract electronic noise alongside a full live band performance.Hope the festival at the weekend goes well.Gie it Laldie,David.Gx.

  • old friend andy hutchinson, who was at school with us,travelled down from bridlington to see cindytalk live last monday night... he was a regular at freeze gigs back in the day... i improvised a section of "pyschodalek nightmares" into our last song "my drift is a ghost"... keeping the freeze alive here as well ;-)

  • nice sax and bass, david.hope all's good with you and yours.will send you a msg soon regarding the "location" question.lyrics!? uhm, don't you recall the "double-skulling"?

    ;-) cx
