The best harmony you'll ever hear, there's nothing like it. Simple accompaniment with emphasis on the vocals. My dad who passed away a few months ago was a diehard fan.

Does anyone know who "Leroy" was?
Ross, if you read this, don't answer.

What a great bunch of voices! One person singing the lyrics could never be as romantic as the group. I have to salute Brian Wilson's taste in basing his singing group's sound on the Freshmen. Anybody hear of the Beach Boys, by chance?... :)
The Four Freshmen are (and have been since 1948) the world's best jazz vocal recording artists. I just head today that my personal "hero" Ross Barbour, an original member, drummer and third voice for 28 years, succumbed to cancer today. I'll be crying for a long time! The annual convention won't be the same without him!

Yes...they are totally awesome. I've always said the Four Freshmen are the World's Greatest Jazz Vocal Recording Artists in the history of music...hands down...bar none! Thanks for your comments!

Oh yes...I've always been a fan-atic of the Four Freshmen...but my wife has always preferred the Beach Boys. We have mega recordings of both groups.

Me, too! Any chance you'll be attending the FFS Convention in Atlanta in August? It's going to be an awesome three days! We'll be there...and then I'll be very happy!

Paul: Yes...you're correct. Brian liked them so much that he lifted several of their charts, note for note and they had relatively good success with those recordings.
