Al Gore with Diane Sawyer

This video is amazing. If it were scripted it couldn't have better proven Gore's point.

Gore tries to discuss themes in his book, The Assault on Reason. He tries to explain how the media is more interested in sound bites than on real information. Sawyer repeatedly tries turn the discussion away from real issues and onto buzzwords, the presidential horse race, and whether Gore has lost weight. Its an amazing example of the exact shenanigans that Gore is calling out.

To all those who have seemed to feel like it was in some way a defeat to Gore referencing his previous statements; you misunderstand the whole point of politics, and indeed life, in that you are free to change your viewpoint. Early in my political life, I was exceptionally conservative; I now vote Green, though is in the UK. The main point is that you cannot defeat a well argued point by referencing previous statements, especially when many of these statements lie outside the debate.
