Here are some commercials I made between 1978 and 1982. Tools were a pair of 3/4" edit decks, a TBC, and a single buss Central Dynamics switcher. No DVEs existed at that point in time. Thanks to Jack Havey at Ad Media, Stew Vreeland at S.T. Vreeland Agency, Mike Oransky, and Ed Zilinsky (among others)

  • Did you work as a master control at a tv station?

  • No, I'm a cameraman/editor/director. Back in 1982 we had a pretty cool little 3/4" editing setup, but by today's standard, it was very primitive. Nowadays, computers make editing & graphics easier, but also remove the challenge.

  • @SouthOCmixdown Nuff'Said!

  • @Ericjurg I started professionally in 1997 with CMX... now using Avid.. Boy, we've come a long way!!!!

  • Wowza...I was a 4 year old living in Maine at the time these were made! Even though I don't quite remember these particular commercials this still brings back a lot of memories for me! Thanks!

  • My gawd, what happened?! I honestly had no sense of how bad the local economy had slipped until watching this! No local business would have the budget for this kind of fantastic advertising any more. What few are left that is.

  • 7:22, haha, maybe I shouldn`t drop acid while reading the newspaper? The IRA people are talking to me again..

  • LOL@ad#1. Hey kids! Lets all jump off of this jagged, rusty, metallic dockpiece, right next to a boat drop ramp with lots of undertow!!! And nobody gave a second thought to showing something like that in an ad back then because it was FUN and people werent so damn UPTIGHT and LETIGIOUS! Man. Times were SO different back then. RIP late 70s-early 80s. =-]

  • These are awesome.

  • These are great! I love your use of music, particularly for the Maine magazine spot. Fill the steins...it's been a while since I heard that one.

  • Nice use of the Return To Forever track, or was that Stanley Clarke?

  • i want mine with drawn butter.

  • Gotta love the short shorts at 0:17

  • amazing quality here!
