I was deeply flattered to receive an industry award from the good folks at Ad-Tech last night. I dedicated it to my recently deceased father (www.williamblackshaw.com) who taught me to appreciate all that can be good in the world of advertising...provided we always keep things trusted and credible. My message to the audience was that if we continue to keep the consumer right smack in the center of our radar, everyone wins -- always. A number of colleagues, friends, and family members shared in the moment..which I deeply appreciated. My god-daughter Dana Michelle also tried to attend, but we learned at the last minute that the venue restricted under 21 participants. Still, I want to let her know publicly how much I appreciate her coming out (along with her dad, my friend Jim)
I agree that companies should keep the consumer front and center, but that is NOT what Toyota is doing in the Toyota engine oil sludge fiasco!
Thousands of angry customers are being ignored as they are denied engine repair cost claims under the CSP.
Why would Toyota take such an approach? Watch the Toyota Sludge video here. Check out toyotaoilgeldotcom for more information. Read the "Toyota Owners Unite for Resolution" petition with almost 3,000 signatories.
