Rock'n Shaolin: Legend of the Seven Paladins 3D (七俠五義3D) is a 1994 pirate first-person shooter by Chinese developer Accend Inc. Using an illegally-licensed version of 3D Realms's Build engine, Accend put together a kung-fu FPS with disastrous results. As one of the seven paladins, players run through 35 stages killing enemies with weapons and magic and collecting keys. The entire game is in Mandarin, so exact plot and gameplay details are difficult to understand.

This video shows the game's introduction and some of the chaotic gameplay. Recording while using DOSBox severely slowed the game, making it infinitely more playable and easier to comprehend. Still, the end goals remain unclear. A bizarre glitch occurs halfway through this clip that brightens the entire screen; this was left in on purpose.

  • This is shareware hell.

  • @PacWarrior0000

This one is from 1994, and SW is from 1997, it can't be a copy.

  • It's a friggin wierd game. I'd love to play the entire thing but I have no idea how what to do. Lol it's like a whole trial and error with the keyboard guess what does what. It was actually kinda fun. But the level structure seems random and makes no sense.

  • I was seriously expecting that when enemy dies, they just disappear without any kind of animation :PPP

  • Looks like a cheap copy of Shadow Warrior.

Shadow Warrior is awesome, Rock'n Shaolin isn't.

  • What a bizarre game.. It's like a bad acid trip!
