First of all you are not alone. Myself and many other hep c survivors are here to help!

Pegintron is a brand name for pegylated interferon and co-pegus for ribavirin. Peg-interferon combined with ribavirin is the mainstay of treatment for hep c ( although new drugs such as telaprevir will also soon be added making the treatment much more effective). I tried both available combinations of interferon/ribavirin for a total of 128 weeks so dont hesitate to ask me for further info!

Medical Secret!

Taking interferon for Hepatitis and not monitoring the blood test glucose levels over a period of several months can kill off the pancreas insulin producing cells targeting them as Hepatitis virus when there are very few or hepatitis viruses to target.

Doctors who do not monitor the glucose weekly, while giving interferon are quacks who just want to make lifetime patients and collect off your medical insurance.
