Mac Davis - Song Painter Album - "Home"

Serving in Viet Nam in 1970 I came across an album from an unknown songwriter at the time named Mac Davis. One song in particular that really moved me was a song called "Home". Made me real homesick. Many years have past. I am thankful to all who sacrificed for our country.

No where could I find this song or lyrics on the internet. I dedicate this song and video to all the veterans who have served in the past and are serving our country today. God Bless them all.

Longtime fan of mac's; it was so bad that at the peak of his career; he lost his wife to Glen Campbell; though he still made music; he never quite regained his former momentum...

Gary Puckett had a hit with this song in the early seventies, a great version, but I still like Mac's better, he wrote it.

So thankful for posting this Mac Davis classic on UT. How unfortunate that the song is still so relelvant 40 years later. This is from a great, great album called, "SongPainter" with many thanks to the very talented Artie Butler for his beautiful arrangements, with members of the "Wrecking Crew" lending instrumental support and a true testament to the little-acknowledged Jerry Fuller for producing this gem.
