  • @uziel187: How very astute!

"And a river went out of Eden to water the garden; and from thence it was parted, and became into four heads." (Genesis 2:10)

  • It is clear, that words, are only as meaningful as the person contemplating them makes them.

和 means harmony in Japan, it is interesting that it means "you & me," in Chinese. The idea of you and me, in harmony, is one that the Japanese hold in high reguard. If not 和, then 無関心, or in worse cases 戦争. So, 和 is a very valued concept to the Japanese.

  • Umm...I am confused. You said you do not understand Japanese, but then you point out that Japanese use Chinese things, like Chinese Characters (漢字).

Which means you should understand some basic things i wrote, but even if you can't, you surely can understand a basic English question?

How do you write, "tree" in Chinese? You are saying 木 means wood, which is another of its meanings, but surely you are not arguing that a word also meaning wood, means it does not mean "tree," are you?

  • @BreshiBaraElohim

and then later that period, these japanese use all those things from china and reform their own, some of the things are still withhold these days....

木曜日 means thursday, like 星期四 in cantanese, 星期 is ...day, and ppl use 1 to 6 and 日 named Monday to Sunday

  • @BreshiBaraElohim

和 alone means and like a conjecture word like you "&" me.

Sorry, I don't study Japanese, but there is some words which are from Ancient Chinese in Tong Dynasty around 7th to 9th century, since the Japanese sent the student and ambassador to learn the culture, language, the structure of word system, religion, entertainment, dressing, the manner of eating, governmental system, art of war etc.

  • It is interesting that you bring up some kind of elementary prejudice you have against other cultures, or they have against you as a result of this linguistic and cultural study. I hope you are not offended by non-Chinese studying Chinese. The point of this series is to gain understanding toward harmony. 和 I hope you can appreciate that, and apply it.

  • 何の話かよく分かりません。

    木って言う漢字は、色々な言葉に使われています。木製、木曜日、木星、 木立、木霊、それとも、「木」の木 です。

Maybe you don't understand this, how about this question; can you answer this? How do you say, "tree" in Chinese, since you are saying "木" does not mean tree.

  • 0:27

When it is one side alone, it means "Wood", Add together is Tree, 3 times of Wood is Forest

BTW, it is weird that you Western people decode the Chinese word that way.......Just like a chinese asking the question by saying "Can you tell me why?".......and you say them "You are so Asian" and I say "You are so European"

BTW, it is a good video for "another possiblilty of the creation of words......Keep that on....

  • This is the best series I've seen on language, the Bible, and how God speaks to us all whether it is in our language or in our hearts. Thanks for doing this, Breshi!

  • veryyyyyyyyyyyyyyy interesting, I hope to see a lot of these vids God Bless
