  • So, if I pepper spray someone in my way, it's assault, but if a police officer does it, that's ok? He wasn't acting in self defense, she couldn't have been blocking anything as she went to help a person who want protesting who had also been assaulted. Illegal protesting is bad, but police brutality is worse.

  • @doublesiding101 A BAD CROWD ???? The only bad crowd were wearing uniforms and helmets !!

  • what a baby get outa here

  • People have a right to protest, but not to disrupt. Here's a tip....If you are protesting or even just hanging out somewhere, and the riot cops show up and tell you to leave......LEAVE. If you disobey a police officer, you are going against the law. It is their job to keep things under control for everybody's safety.

  • wow these people are really uneducated you were not there if you were you really dont know why you were there, i was there trying to get some students out of the building which were being beaten by the security of mcgill so please shut the fuck up if you dont know what your talking about

  • I saw pictures in the montreal gazette of students blocking entrances to buildings, not allowing other students or staff to get in. Why do liberals think its ok to infringe on other peoples rights and freedom to choose? You don't. Sending in the riot police was the right thing to do. If you want to protest, do it without taking away other peoples freedom, then maybe you won't have to deal with riot cops.

  • oliooli917: Dude, I'm a pure product of McGill; I studied there and taught there, and I'm proud of "those kids." Get that pickle unstuck from your ass and get yourself a drink and a life.

  • @tessieification "these kids" were rioting on a University Campus. Something which they DO NOT have the right to do. The university called the cops to have them expelled. These "kids" were making a scene where people are working, and studying. These are only a fraction of McGill students. Most of the other students were happy to see them kicked off campus. When things like this happen, it is an embarrassment on McGill students and McGill community.

  • She didn't do anything "wrong"? Well... She definitely did something extremely STUPID - she chose to enter a volatile fray - MOREOVER she admits that she broke through the riot police line from behind! Again, STUPID... Of course this resulted in experiencing some pepper spray... So, she is either a fool or a troublemaker... but either way people like her do NOT belong at civilized demonstrations bc they give peaceful protestors a BAD name.

  • This is a bit ridiculous. Police brutality involves more than a bit of pepper spray. You should have done what they said and left the scene. The police did a good job that night. I was one of the people leaving McConnell and the police asked us to leave but we kept watching. Therefore anyone who got caught up in it deserves what they got. It looks bad on the University to have students raid one of the buildings. Thank you police for keeping the situation under control before it escalated.
