I'm also considering interpretation as a career but I'm an English major with and emphasis in Linguistics. I understand that i will need additional training to be a board-certified interpreter, but do you think that my major is adequate for employment in this field?

The opportunities are there, but preparation is mandatory to become a competent Interpreter! I'm on my way to become one of them! :O)
