James Kelman was the winner of the prestigious Scottish Mortgage Investment Trust Book Awards for 2009, winning a cash prize of £30,000 for his novel "Kieron Smith, Boy". The event, staged at the Borders Book Festival at Melrose was hosted by Rory Bremner, and the prize itself was presented to James by Pat Kane of Hue & Cry. You can see footage from the Awards plus an interview with James Kelman, who clearly wanted to get a lot of things off his chest as Radio Borders' Stuart McFarlane found out. www.hotdisc.net
