  • I'm getting ready to start a dunk now program. I've heard of people getting really good results from it, but it says not to do any extra work with my legs like squating or ect. So i was curious if you guys decided to still workout your legs or if your plan called for it. Also, the workouts seem pretty intense, do you think that with a healthy diet it would help with toning muscle too?

  • @jumpmancolt

Don't know what the program your doing is like, but assuming it already has lifting programmed in, i wouldn't do anything extra than what the program calls for.

Yes, a good diet will help you obtain better results.

  • there is no way that you are any where near forty inch vertical cus my standing reach is s7"10 and i only fucking have a 35 inch vertical and can jump waaaay higher

  • @redberrey1 hence the title road to 40 inch vertical. the guy in the white though can hit 40 off a run. this vid was during heavy weeks of lifting neither of us were jumping high at this point

  • hey man.....nice vid keep up the training..but for fun make it a road to 50 inch vertical because im trying to get to 50 and i can jump at least 40 now.....so aim high!!!!! and you'll do better :)

  • @Jordan7123 my goal is a 40 standing vert so running would probably be mid 40's

  • Ego lifting. Drop the weight and squat right. None of you are even coming close to parallel, let alone breaking it.

  • Do the shorts help you jump higher too?

  • i had a problem with my lower back... when i'm tired it hurts me ... can i do this... pleasee text mee...

  • @megapwn333 Thanks man. I appreciate it.

  • @jumpmancolt should be able to squat 1.5 times ur own weight then u have enough power in ur legs. after that concentrate on getting ur body fat to at least 18% and work on speed plyometrics

  • i have a 7'11 reach i only need 30 inches to dunk ...i have a 34 inch runnning vert havent tried to dunk in a very long time just been in the gym getting right and testing myself..

  • @midgetking101

Its all about how quickly you can exert all of your max power into a jump. If you have acces to a squat bar pm me. More overall power to exert into your jump is the obvious answere but if your problem is palming the ball do fingertip pushups and finger tip pullups. Train your weakest lower body muscles as well if you know your hamstrings are weak or what ever work on that because thats going to quickly make you way stronger.

  • @redberrey1 god i would kill to have a 7' 10" reach... mine is 7' 4" and i have a 32 inch standing vertical and 36 inch running ... i can dunk a dodge ball. any tips?

  • @mouloudo yeah, but if you squat parallel or atg you work more muscles in your legs, and youll have better strengths, not to mention full range of motion. increase in strength increases your jump potential. i think itd be good to do both.

  • cant believe i kept watching the video
