RMary - Condi was not allowed to keep the jewels. All gifts to public employees must be declared and are kept "for the nation", or sold or something.

Anyway, Condi can't be bribed by jewels, oil, gold and such like into loving someone she didn't already love.

But if you wanted Condi to deliver great goals which would dramatically improve the lives of people the world over maybe she could be hired.

This is why we should draft her to run for president, for the right reasons, to do good.

But I don't think it is a really serious relationship because Peter MacKay complained that the media were hyping it up too much.
