I have a Mora and I baton wood with it all the time. Have been for 2 years.

I've seen carbon steel moras as well as Stainless. we sell both at the camp I work at. Carbon holds a much better edge, though it can be harder to sharpen, but the old timers used to say carbon steel is the way to go.

I too am a 2 knife kind of guy. But, a large knife will do a small knife job, so if I had only one choice, Id go big. On my outtings, I usually have way more than two anyways so I can try out different things. I think it all boils down to personal preference and faith. You build faith based on how hard you use any knife and how it performs for the indiviual. I know a small knife can usually get the job done, but a lager knife always gets it done, for me anyways.

the unfortunately discontinued mora 510, you can make one out of a 511 though. I am myself a mora convert, used to think they were crap until I sharpened and used one!
Well done. 5/5. Where do you get that whistle?
