Seriously i can think of at least 10 sf movies that are outdated now and are still better then this and most of what is now being released. Clockwork Orange, Planet of the Apes series, Solaris, Stalker, Rollerball.

Ah, so awesome. I used to have a VHS of this that I watched all the time growing up. I had to search it up and see if it's still as awesome as my childhood memories made it out to be; it is!

I saw this in '79 when I was 13...I thought it was great at the time, especially Caroline Munro. It's harmless fun...but how the hell did Christopher Plummer get roped into doing such a cheesy flick?

It's fair. It's not a matter of realism, it's simple production values. 10 years before STAR CRASH, 2001 had believable sets and miniatures, whereas STAR CRASH has papier mache' and toys on strings.
