Octopus caught by fisherman

I was download old video tape to DVD and I ran across this fishing video of my friends and I on a fishing trip off the Louisiana coast. We actually caught a live octopus on a rod and reel. I have fished a long time and have never heard of this before or after. We didn't know what to do with it and certainly no one wanted to touch the thing before it finally unhooked itself. Let me know if anyone else has heard of an octopus being caught like this...
