i thought i was the only one, hahah, then when i tried explaining it, everyone was like, shut up, no it doesnt.

great noticing, epic album!

i would also say, they tried to make the last two lines sound like the elements:
Flame deluge... sounds like something's burning... kings upon the main... sounds like a stone which drowns in deep water... silver wings... sounds like something floating through air... child of dust ... pretty obviously... sounds like you're in a coffin getting buried

I noticed this earlier today, and I feel that its a true show of genius.

It's a fair question. Dustin is a Christian and writes the lyrics. Obviously that's going to entail him viewing life from a Christian perspective. Thrice aren't playing praise and worship songs. Dustin just holds that particular belief system and so it's obviously going to filtrate into their songwriting style.
They explore the rest of Western philosophy at just as much depth as anything else. I'm not a Christian and I find Dustin's storytelling fascinating. There's something for everyone. =)

I don't think its a casket...its a door. Someone walked into the room when they were recording and they just left it. Its realy cool, i bought the Vinyl versions of these and they talk abotu each song in depth

The last song on each was meant to be able to be read as a poem without music...and you can hear beer bottles clinking in one of the fire album songs...and a door shutting ever 4th measure in digital sea (i think its digital sea)

ya they burried a box with the microphone in it in the guitarests back yard to get that effect and if u listen closely u can hear a little bit of talking, footsteps, and a shovel being thrust into the ground

Those pictures are awesome. whered you get them from?

Dustin is, but they don't classify themselves as a christian band.
To be honest I think he meant in all the songs, how the last two lines are all sung in the excact same fashion, and not just how the last lines have their own rhythm, but that the last two lines on each song are the exact same. And if you honestly want to try to dis someone, dont sound likee a dumbass by saying that they "abort dumb babies".

The lyrics are written in sonnet form, hence the rhythm on the last two lines.
