They started assembling at about 11am at Congressman Paul Ryan's office, 5455 Sheridan Road. About 50 protesters marched, chanted and displayed signs to motorists passing on Sheridan Road.

Their complaints? According to one, they felt that Ryan was not doing enough to secure jobs for his constituents. Ryan was paying no attention to the common person and their needs, and instead focused on and listened to lobbyists and big political contributors. She complained that rather than responding to the substance of her emails she was pointed towards a congressional conference call and urged to attend a constituent meeting with a $15 door charge.

  • Make your own jobs your bottom feeders.

  • @bweazel - Just saw your note now. In ways I do agree with you. We ought to be more self-sufficient in our lives. Also, we need to recognize that the proliferation of labor saving devices since the 40's and techno toys since the 80's have not really worked to improve our quality of life.

I would differ with you concerning the phrase "bottom feeders". May I suggest "leeches" instead. Why? Well, the economic morass we are experiencing was brought about by leeches in the upper echelon.

  • Thanks to liberal policy the world economy is crashing. We must do two things to stop the meltdown NOW!!! Firstly, we need to raise all payroll taxes 10% for one year. We also need to stop (right now) wasteful handout programs like medicare, social security, unemployment,, etc. and lower the minimum wage to $2/hr so we can compete with China. I will work with Perry, Ryan and my other republican colleagues and take immediate action on these proposals. God bless the GOP!

  • @GOPkicksbutt Raise taxes? Are you sure you are with the GOP?

As to the reason for the economic crash of 2008 it wasn't caused by the "handout" programs you mentioned. The world economy took the big hit because of the plans and products of the financial sector. They were the ones who came up with the idea of CDOs, Credit Default Swaps and other dangerous "products" as well as the idea of insuring some clients against the "crap"

  • @madmanmikey - what one high ranking Goldman Sachs official called the product it marketed and sold to customers - that it was pedaling.

Since the Reagan Administration intense money and pressure had been put into getting rid of market regulations that served to protect the economy since the Depression. I can't even say Republicans did it - Clinton signed the repeal of Glass-Steagall, which ended open the floodgates and allowed the fraud and ballooning to come.

  • @madmanmikey Haha, I switch back and forth between bottom feeders and leeches. I just don't understand anyone that asks other people to make a job for them. These people have zero pride. I would be ashamed of myself for picketing for someone else to do something I'm fully capable of doing myself. It takes a real special idiot to not be ashamed of being a complete succubus on society, although you really can't blame them, they're too stupid to realize they are leeches.

  • Had David Koch showed up,, he would have been quickly welcomed in for a meeting

  • Keep up the pressure!

  • solidarity brothers and sisters
