  • While Muay Thai is particularly effective in the clinch (Bruce Lee himself incorporated Thai clinch work into JKD), it doesn't have the footwork, directness, quickness and efficiency that JKD does in the kicking and punching ranges. I mean SEE for yourself.

Many MT and/or MMA fighters just seem to have no idea that studying JKD could do phenomenal things for their stand-up game. In many ways, it remains the best kept secret in martial arts.

  • Bruce Lee paved the way for a lot of the developments u obviously take 4 granted, like MMA. JKDers like Paul Vunak introduced Brazilian Jiu JItsu to a brighter audience already in 1989, four years before the UFC. It is always easy to mock those that came before, as their stuff was always the less effective. The guys in this vid however just seem to flail at each other. I see no Muay Thai, nor do I see any of the more sophisticated JKD stuff like Larry Hartsells Clinch work. And no grappling.

  • @charliejunfan13

    EXACTLY, my friend!

  • Although I agree with some of the comments here saying Bruce would be disappointed with the sloppiness I think these guys should be applauded for ACTUALLY UPLOADING a "JKD" FIGHTING/SPARRING video as opposed to most of the JKD videos on youtube just showing various drills. If we want the brilliant effectiveness of Jeet Kune Do and all our best teachers(Inosanto, Vunak, etc..etc..) recognized we gotta show the world some actual sparring/fighting footage of ourselves....Just my opinion.... : D

  • @FalseShadowx why dont you post up a video bro

  • @LAZERFIST888 welcome to real world fighting

  • @Germanicus79 whats your weight

  • And what is JKD you think or you think you know?

If possible please send me description to my E-mail:

    Regards

  • JKD? I don't see any JKD principles/concepts there...the guy fights pretty well because he's got stamina, but it's far from being called a JKD fighter. JKD is not the same as throwing in any kind of techniques you want at any time...THERE ARE principles, not rules or standards, but principles that will make combat efficient JKD-wise. When JKD is put in the ring, then it is no longer JKD.

  • @Germanicus79 A Yo dude, How much force does it take to knock someone out, when hit right on the "button"? Not much! It takes exact timing & correct placement(chin or temple). I once saw a little kid drop a grown reff in contact fight by accident. Speed, plus mass, equals power. Just a little science. peace!

  • U guys R just cool
