Haley Joel Osment (nickname HJO) was born in Los Angeles, California at April 10, 1988. He is the first child from Theresa Marie Osment (née Seifert), a teacher, & the theater & film actor Michael Eugene Osment; both are catholic & to come from Alabama. Emily Jordan Osment, whose second child, was born at March 10, 1992 (in Los Angeles too). They together to live near Los Angeles in La Cañada Flintridge. Haley Joels childhood was described by his parents as a good old-fashioned Southern upbringing, & his father said that when Haley Joel was learning to talk, he avoided using baby talk to communicate with him. He fondly recalls his surprise at hearing his son, like most three years old & very keen on dinosaurs, correctly pronounce the word paleontologist. Later, in his free time, Haley Joel likes to catch & release lizards in the backyard at his home or on vacations. So he never had begun acting he certainly chose a job for meeting reptiles. Haley Joel really likes lizards, keeping two leopard geckos from Pakistan. Despite his extensive acting he was one of the best in school; he was an straight-A student at Flintridge Preparatory School in La Cañada. He liked most science, language arts, history (sympathy for George Patton & Franklin Delano Roosevelt) & math. At his school time he was talented in many sports like basketball, football, baseball, soccer & (up to today) golf. Someday in a interview Haley Joel said he plays guitar & piano. Most he likes music from R.E.M., Coldplay, Radiohead, Pink Floyd & Led Zeppelin. His favorite authors are Tolkien & Edgar Allan Poe. At most time he eat vegetarian, but fish & chicken he likes too. Near his home at July 20, 2006 Haley Joel lost the control about his car which struck a mailbox & overturned. Beside other violations he broken his shoulder. He had drunk & they found marijuana in his car. He don't contest to the following verdict. He to bear the consequences & learned thereof. At the moment he to go to New York Universitys Tisch School of the Arts. At the age of four years Haley Joel got his first role in a Pizza Hut commercial: In a new Ikea store a talent scout was looking on suitable young kids for acting. He was alert to Haley Joel & notice his name. He got called back for an audition, where he asked Haley Joel to describe the largest thing he ever saw. His answer about an IMAX theater screen was so forceful so he got this advertising part. In 1994 Haley Joel got his first role in the television series Thunder Alley (as Harry Turner) [27 episodes], small parts in the movies Mixed Nuts (little boy) [with Steve Martin] & Forrest Gump (as Forrest Gump junior) [with Tom Hanks], guest roles in The Larry Sanders Show (little boy) & Lies of the Heart (as Kyle). In 1995-1997 he played in completely all 24 episodes from The Jeff Foxworthy Show (as Matt Foxworthy). In a radio interview Jeff Foxworthy described Haley Joel about to learn the text parts, he did it like a photographic memory. In 1996 he played in For Better or Worse (as Danny). In the same year Haley Joel get his first starring role in Bogus (as Albert Franklin) [with Gerard Depardieu & Whoopi Goldberg]. Haley Joels father appeared in the most of the movies with his son: As Pete in The Ransom of Red Chief, as a cop in Pay it Forward, as a german soldier in Edges of the Lord, as assistant of professor Hobby in A.I. Artificial Intelligence, as a doctor in Secondhand Lions & many more. Michael Eugene Osment is very supportive to his son Haley Joel & his daughter Emily Jordan (she is acting like her brother). It followed many movies, for example 1999 The Sixth Sense [Academy Award/Oscar nomination for Haley Joel], 2000 Pay it Forward, 2001 A.I. Artificial Intelligence, 2003 Secondhand Lions, voice acting in cartoons & video games, for example 2002 Kingdom Hearts, 2003 The Jungle Book II, a audio book [The little Prince] with Richard Gere & many more in very different & varied roles. His awards & nominations are very extensive, for example 1995 Young Artist Awards, 1997 Young Star Awards, 2000 Saturn Awards, 2001 ShoWest Awards & many, many more... In November 2008 Haley Joel made his Broadway theatre debut at the Belasco Theatre in New York in the play American Buffalo (as Bobby)...
