I found that the power button needs to be released as soon as the power light flashes. After the flash drive has been used, there is a short period when nothing seems to happen - just wait.
My Acer Aspire One failed during the first few days of a safari holiday. I was using it to store the thousands of photos I was taking - fortunately I had a very good friend, with a computer, travelling with us!

Hi Guru,
I have a Acer AO532 I went to Acer site, did everything you said on your vid, choose the latest BIO's, but when I get to the part where I flash the bios I hold down FN and ESC and the power button I'm holding them for ages because the power button doesn't blink, if I let go of the button the light comes on and the light on the usb comes on, but nothing is happening no sound of anything working just the lights are on. can you help thanks!!

hey mate, when i try this the Power LED blinks, but the USB doesnt blink or anything, i've felt it for hours, tried many times, but still nothing. when i try powering up WITHOUT esc+fn then the power led just turns on normaly ,doesnt blink, so i thought that the netbook's bios flash procedure still works but it's not reading my usb... any advice??? i've tried a couple usbs and opened by lappy to check screen,keyboard n usb connections.
