Can't blame him for complaining, it's really difficult.

To ask the BBC to release this on DVD, go to the bbcamericashop site (YouTube won't let me copy in the URL unfortunately). Click on the "DVD" tab that is in the upper left of the home page and then go down about 3/4 of the way on the right of the next page that comes up. There should be a "Suggest a Title" section. Click on "Tell Us" and then let them know you want to see the 2005 documentary "Riot at the Rite".

It is funny how the video portrays a french bassoon, but the sound is obviously of a German bassoon.

This is amazing. I wish there was a full recording somewhere that I could get my hands on. I am studying music, and using this piece as my topic for my final report in my music history class.

Thanks again. :D
From what movie is this footage take from? Do they show the riot that follows? Anyone?

The footage is from a BBC TV drama called 'Riot at the Rite', about the circumstances surrounding the first performance of Stravinksy's Rite of Spring. It was shown on BBC 2 last year. A full performance of the ballet is included in the show, including a recreation of the 'riot' which accompanied the first performance.

Thanks. Where can one purchase a copy of this? Is it on the YOutube?

the BBC have not put it out as a DVD, but a user ('najinski') has put the performance section of the drama on YouTube - the first part is called Premiere Performance Part1 A
