Uh.. you want your spotter to touch the bar at all times. If something happens, he will be there immediately as opposed to a few seconds later had his hands not been on the bar.
Just because his hands are on the bar does not mean that he is affecting your workout

Regardless of his spotter touching it and the fact its decline, VERY few people can even think about hitting that weight. Stop talking shit. Obviously the man is strong as hell

@johnjr98 maybe for you. For me decline is the most difficult. Maybe because I'm 6'8". Also dealing with all that blood comming to my head when I'm declining is much greater than on the flat bench. So if you're 5'6" midget with T-Rex arms than you probably right but being almost 7 feet tall it makea all the difference.
