  • This video footage is fantastic, particularly when taking into account that it comes from a a ver y small and relatively cheap camera! I am planning on buying a PEN EPL1 camera with the dedicated olympus housing, the 9-18mm wide angle lens and the zen dome. Of course, Eventually I plan on including a pair of light and motion video lights. Would you reccomend against me getting this camera for video. I will also use it for topside photography.

    Thanks

  • I would recommend a newer model like the EPM1. Faster & quieter focusing and better video. I would not consider the setup "cheap" though. The 9-18mm lens is about $600 now ($800 when I bought it). Good luck!

  • That is amazing video, thanks for sharing; I am looking into buying a underwater video system myself, what would you recommend?

  • @458kingmo Thanks! I think the new Olympus E-PL3 would be really great for UW video and stills. You will also need some decent video lights if you are doing video. Look at the ones from Light & Motion.
