Francis Khoo passed away in the UK in November of 2011. A remarkable man who lived a remarkable life: lawyer, human rights advocate, Harvard professor and the one who looked the slime LKY in his face and laughed.

R.I.P. Mr. Khoo - a true Singaporean patriot. Ora et Labora.

lee kuan yew's argument is that in the 1960s to 70s , he had to crush political opponents by hook or by crook because singapore is not stable and cannot afford political opposition hampering nation building. ok let us give him that. but what about 1980s and 1990s jbj and chee sj are sued successfully for libel and prevented from running for parliament. 1980s and 1990s still cannot afford political dissent?
-
He sounds quite demented
-
"Lee Kuan Yew, some of you may not know who he is." haha good one.
-
singapore is a strategic rock in south east asia and the world.
I am neutral with regard to politics and will remain so.
But I know human nature is heavily influenced by the pot of gold in the horizon regardless of rank, race, religion, that is a good thing if one know how to steer it.
-
He speaks, in my opnion, pretty well and proper...as many of our English-education Singaporean grandparents do......... its sad how our Singaporean English deteriorated each generation.... hmmmmzzzzz
-
why are you messing with ppl and accused them of being rebels if they want individual rights and when they leave the country? Why dont you mess with the Americans living and working in Singapore? Dont there to touch them because of diplomatic immunity? Or you afraid that they can nuke the island to smitherreen. HAHAHA. Power does grew out of the barrel of a gun!
-
on the contrary to what Francis Seow said that lee was not responsible but his wife. i say, lee was responsible according to TJS George Lee kuan Yew! My favourite book.
-
I want to join the Russian airforce so that i can drop one nuke in your country! Nothing personal.
Exile means to be away from one's home (i.e. city, state or country), while either being explicitly refused permission to return and/or being threatened by prison or death upon return. It can be a form of punishment.
Self-exile is often depicted as a form of protest by the person that claims it, to avoid persecution, an act of shame or repentance, or isolating oneself to be able to devote time to a particular thing.
