Unfortunate bloody incident in a game between the New York Islanders and Atlanta Thrashers on Sunday, November 21st, 2010 at the Phillips Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.

mike mottau is my dads cuzin but if he wore a sheld it would have went under it anyway so shut up....

I have met and talked to Mottau as recent as april 8th his right eye will be permanently dilated for the rest of his life. He does not believe it will be a career ending injury but his eye is now extremely sensitive to light and not only will he be coming back next year with a visor he will probably have it tinted similar to Ovechkins in order to counteract the sensitivity to the arenas lighting.

@banditontherun104 HAHAA way to take it over the top, I hate to see things like this happen, but it will so long as their are hard rubber pucks, visors or not. Personally I wear a visor and probably would wear a visor in the nhl, I've used it, it works for me, others prefer otherwise, who am I to tell them what to do? You can prevent incidents like these you hyper over-reactor
